Terms of Service
1. Introduction & acceptance PLACEHOLDER
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to templatetent.com and your use of the digital templates ("Products") sold under the templateTent brand. By visiting the site or purchasing a Product, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site or buy the Products.
Purchases are processed through Etsy and are also subject to Etsy's own terms and policies. Where these Terms and Etsy's terms address the same subject, Etsy's terms govern the transaction; these Terms govern the use of the Product after delivery.
2. The products you're buying PLACEHOLDER
templateTent sells digital spreadsheet templates, typically delivered as Google Sheets files (with Excel-compatible exports where indicated). Each product listing on Etsy describes the exact contents of that product, the format(s) it ships in, and the price. The listing on the date of purchase is the canonical description of what you've bought.
3. License & permitted use PLACEHOLDER
When you purchase a Product, you receive a non-exclusive, non-transferable, perpetual license to use that Product. You may:
- Use the Product for your own business (sole proprietor, LLC, partnership, corporation — any entity you own or operate).
- Use the Product to deliver services to your direct clients (for example, a bookkeeper using a templateTent product to manage a client's records).
- Modify the Product for your own use, including adding tabs, adjusting formulas, and customizing labels.
- Make backup copies of the Product for your own records.
4. Restrictions PLACEHOLDER
You may not:
- Resell, sublicense, or redistribute the Product, in whole or in part, whether modified or unmodified.
- Strip or alter templateTent branding for the purpose of passing the Product off as your own work.
- Use the Product to create a derivative template product offered for sale.
- Publicly post the Product file or its contents to a location where it can be downloaded by third parties.
- Use the Product in a manner that violates any applicable law or third-party rights.
5. Refunds & support PLACEHOLDER
Per Etsy's standard policy on digital downloads, refunds are not automatically available once a Product has been downloaded. That said, our practical policy is simple:
- If a Product doesn't work the way the listing says it will, email support@templatetent.com and we'll either fix it or refund the purchase price.
- If you need help making the Product work for your specific use case, support is included — same email address, response within one business day.
6. Updates & availability PLACEHOLDER
Updates to a Product (bug fixes, new features, version upgrades) are included for as long as we maintain that Product. We may, at our discretion, retire a Product — in which case you continue to have the most recent version you received, but no further updates will be issued.
7. Intellectual property PLACEHOLDER
All copyrights, trademarks, and other intellectual property rights in the Products and in templatetent.com remain the property of templateTent and its licensors. Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of any intellectual property; you receive a license to use the Product, not ownership of the Product.
8. Warranties & disclaimers PLACEHOLDER
The Products are provided "as is" and "as available." templateTent does not provide accounting, tax, legal, or financial advice. The Products are organizational tools; the conclusions you draw from them and the decisions you make based on them are yours. We recommend consulting a qualified professional for any decision that has tax, legal, or financial consequences.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.
9. Limitation of liability PLACEHOLDER
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, templateTent's total liability arising out of or relating to a Product or these Terms is limited to the amount you paid for that Product. In no event will we be liable for indirect, consequential, incidental, or punitive damages.
10. Changes to these terms PLACEHOLDER
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be communicated where reasonable. Continued use of the site or Products after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
